Remote Witnessing of Documents: Processes under the Permanent Regulations

November 10, 2021    |    12:00 noon – 1:30 p.m. CST  |    Video Webinar

Jointly presented with the Manitoba Bar Association

New regulations apply to the remote witnessing and commissioning of documents by video-conference. Effective October 1, 2021, these permanent regulations replace the temporary orders made under The Emergency Measures Act at the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Lawyers need to familiarize themselves with the new regulations and adapt their processes accordingly, as there are some significant changes from what was established under the temporary regime.

Attend this “how-to” CPD session to learn what is required when using video-conferencing as an alternative to in-person attendance. You will receive new easy to use checklists replacing the now dangerously outdated checklists provided at the May 2020 Executing Documents Remotely CPD.

Who Should Attend: Lawyers and legal support staff

Presenters:

Tana Christianson, The Law Society of Manitoba
Gerrit Theule, Wolseley Law LLP

Registration includes 30 day access to the video recording of the program.
