Aimed at litigators interested in becoming labour arbitrators, including those who may not regularly practise in labour law, this session will provide foundational information about becoming a neutral decision-maker in labour relations matters.

Learn the basics of how a labour arbitration runs, from preliminary matters through to writing a decision, and hear from our experienced panel of three Manitoba labour arbitrators on both substantive and practical tips for labour arbitrators.

The day will also include a practitioner panel providing thoughts on what labour lawyers find beneficial from the arbitrators their clients retain.

At the end of the day, participants will have learned the key ins and outs of labour arbitrator practice along with valuable ideas for beginning to work in the area.

Lunch is included.
