You will learn about the process for appointment of a substitute decision-maker (SDM) under The Adults Living with an Intellectual Disability Act, the scope of Personal Care decision-making under section 57 and Property decision-making under section 92, and how the decision to appoint an SDM may be appealed.
A proceeding under The Infants’ Estates Act provides for an individual to request legal authority to receive and manage funds on behalf of a minor. You will learn about the requirements of the court application, practical considerations beforehand, what the Order will contain and post-Order considerations.
